Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County to partner with Innovate+Educate to host its First Skills-Based Hiring Fair 

Fort Worth, Texas (October 17, 2017) – Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County in partnership with Innovate+Educate (I+E) will host a skills-based Hospitality, Retail and Tourism focused hiring event on October 25th at the Ruthe Jackson Center.  Major companies from the Tarrant County area will be on hand to meet with applicants and discuss over 250 available positions. Applicants interested in one or more of the available positions will take a simple skills assessment, Core Score, that will be used to best match their knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviors to individual positions.


 

Industry Discover Expo Gives Students a Jumpstart on Career Planning

FORT WORTH, Texas (Sept. 25, 2017) –Underscoring its commitment to serving the community, Tarrant County College and Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County will celebrate the opening of the area’s newest Workforce Center with a special event on Friday, Sept. 29 highlighting career pathways for junior high and high school students.


 

Northwest Workforce Center Opens 

FORT WORTH, Texas (Sept. 6, 2017) – Tarrant County College and Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County are making it even easier for area residents to access both in-demand career training and an array of employment resources. On Monday, Sept. 11, Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County will open a Workforce Center on the College’s Northwest Campus (4801 Marine Creek Parkway, Fort Worth). The Workforce Center, located on the second floor of the WSTU Building, will also house the TCC Career Services Office.


 

NAWB Selects 2017 National Leadership Award Winners

Washington, D.C.– The National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB), the membership organization and advocate for more than 550 workforce development boards (WDBs) nationwide and their network of American Job Centers, has announced the 2017 winners of its annual leadership awards, the WIOA Trailblazer Award and the W.O. Lawton Business Leadership Award.


Klein Tools Honored as Small Employer of the Year at Texas Workforce Conference

AUSTIN – Klein Tools Inc. of Mansfield was named Small Employer of the Year at the Texas Workforce Commission’s (TWC) 20th Annual Texas Workforce Conference held Dec. 7-9 in Houston. Klein Tools was nominated by Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County (Tarrant) and chosen as the Small Employer of the Year from among three exemplary finalists, out of 22 small, private-sector employers nominated. All nominees were recognized for contributions to their community’s workforce through innovation and collaboration with their local Texas Workforce Solutions network partner.


Lockheed Martin Honored as Large Employer of the Year at Texas Workforce Conference 

AUSTIN – Lockheed Martin was named Large Employer of the Year at the Texas Workforce Commission’s (TWC) 20th Annual Texas Workforce Conference held Dec. 7-9 in Houston. Lockheed Martin was nominated by Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County (Tarrant) and chosen as the Large Employer of the Year from among three exemplary finalists, out of 26 private-sector employers nominated. All nominees have 500 or more employees and were recognized for contributions to their community’s workforce through innovation and collaboration with their local Texas Workforce Solutions network partner. Lockheed Martin was also recognized with the Local Employer Award of Excellence for the Tarrant County area.

CLC, Inc. and JPMorgan Chase team up to build Fort Worth’s workforce of tomorrow

FORT WORTH, Texas – May 8, 2017 — To spark greater economic opportunity for veterans and unemployed workers across North Texas, JPMorgan Chase will provide a $500,000 grant to CLC, Inc. for local workforce development efforts.
