Accounting Manager
Summary
Performs all accounting and reporting duties for Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County , as required by the Senior Director of Finance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervise Accounting Clerk for Finance Department.
- Responsible for all administrative and service expenditures for payments, and maintains all necessary accounting invoices and records.
- Perform coding of invoices and source documentation.
- Maintains and reports accounting data for multiple fund sources, including posting and updating the general ledger for all funds.
- Prepares the monthly cost allocation and cost pool distribution and monitors and supervises the cost pool distribution methodology.
- Serves as a liaison with the Auditing firm. Assist in audit preparation including preparation of audit schedules.
- Assists with financial monitoring and audit reviews of Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County and workforce delivery system contracts.
- Assists in the development of policies and procedures for Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County and the workforce delivery system.
- Ensures the implementation of accounting and finance policies and procedures in a timely manner.
- Maintains MIP Fund Accounting, security, and user accounts. Responsible for the accuracy of the accounting records.
- Reconcile all bank statements.
- Assist in the year-end closing with Finance, Contracts and Procurement, and Budget Units.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and budget comparison reports for all funds.
- Assist the Senior Director of Finance with preparation of special fiscal reports.
- Coordinates with Procurement Liaison Manager to provide continuous contracting improvement and compliance.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
- Analyze monthly financial statements and report variances.
- Remain current on updates relating to regulated industry trends and analysis.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises one employee in the Finance Department. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in accounting or related field from a college or university and four (4) years related experience; non-profit, government experience preferred, fund accounting experience and MIP accounting software experience preferred. CPA or advanced degree preferred.
