Deputy Sheriff

Brief Job Description

  • Patrols assigned county area.
  • Maintains awareness of area for crime prevention.
  • Responds day or night by traveling to major offense locations for on-scene investigations; recording offenses and accidents; interviewing complainants, witnesses and defendants; and handling vehicular traffic control and enforcement (tickets/warnings).

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have completed a Texas Basic Peace Officer course and be licensable by TCOLE.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and/or obtain a license within 30 days.
  • Must be willing to work nights, evenings, overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.

Pay – 26.01 – 28.53 per hour

Criminal Investigator

Brief Job Description

  • Conducts in-depth criminal investigations of crimes prosecutable under the laws of the State of Texas.
  • Assists attorneys in case preparation from inception through appeal while maintaining attorney/client confidentiality and operating within the laws and rules applicable to criminal and civil practice.
  • Works collaboratively with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in the preparation and prosecution of criminal and civil cases.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years or more of direct law enforcement investigative experience required.
  • Degree requirement may be waived based upon years of experience.
  • Basic Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) peace officer certification required.

Pay – 37.09 per hour
