The Tarrant County Child Care Task Force has updated the GUIDANCE TO CHILD CARE PROVIDERS DURING COVID to reflect updates made by DHHS-Child Care Licensing and emerging best practices nationally and in the state. We have highlighted the changes in the beginning, namely:
- Recommended use of masks by adult child care teachers in facilities; cloth or homemade masks are recommended; clarification on not requiring mask use by children and forbidding mask use by children two and under.
- If a COVID positive case, programs should contact child care licensing and CCMS. CCMS is contacted to arrange a no-cost deep cleaning for the facility. Programs should expect to be closed several (2-5) days. Instead of quarantining all staff and children for 14 days, the recommendation takes into account the required separation between classrooms and ONLY the classroom with the COVID-positive case is recommended for self-quarantine for 14 days.
