Layoff / Loss of Job

Have you recently lost your job? Our Layoff packet provides information for workers who have been laid off,  those who have lost their jobs due to other reasons and individuals who are simply seeking a better job. This resource provides handouts such as, Unemployment Benefits at a Glance, Texas Workforce Commission Benefit Payments and Tax Impact of Job Loss.  Most importantly, it directs individuals to contact Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County, as we offer NO COST customized services at Workforce Centers throughout Tarrant County to help with your reemployment needs. Non Custodial Parent Program

NCP Choices is a collaborative effort of the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) of Texas, the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County and family court judges. The program targets low-income unemployed or underemployed noncustodial parents who are behind on their child support payments and whose children are current or former recipients of public assistance.

The goal of NCP Choices is to help noncustodial parents (NCPs) overcome substantial barriers to employment and career advancement while becoming economically self-sufficient and making consistent child support payments.

Summer Earn & Learn

The Summer Earn and Learn (SEAL) Program Creates Pathways to Employment for Students with Disabilities. SEAL is a statewide strategy that includes Work Readiness Training and Paid Internships for students with disabilities. It is offered during the summer months, when students are out of school.

Student HireAbility Navigator Initiative

The Student HireAbility Navigator (SHN) initiative provides support and coordination around the region to grow and improve workforce transition services offered to students with disabilities and their families.

Re-Entry Services

WSTC strives to provide critical employment and training support to individuals who are reintegrating into society after incarceration. These services include:

  • Job training
  • Skills development
  • Job placement assistance
  • Other services to ensure success

Our goal is to help individuals successfully transition back into the workforce. Our team is prepared to provide a personalized experience that addressed the unique needs and challenges these individuals are facing, ultimately helping them to secure employment and build a stable, productive future.

Reemployment Services & Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) Program

This program connects unemployment benefits participants to reemployment services to aid in finding new employment as quickly as possible.  If you are selected by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) unemployment division to participate in this staff-assisted program, here is what to expect:

  1. You will receive a letter from the TWC notifying you of your selection and mandatory participation in an employment orientation through the local Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County office.
  2. You will be assigned a date and time to attend a mandatory 1-on-1 orientation with a Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County RESEA Specialist.
  3. A resource packet will be provided by Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County to assist you with your job search and career goals.

2025 Teacher Externship
Connecting CTE teachers with high demand industries

Teacher Externship

The Teacher Externship Program is aimed at enhancing the quality of Career and Technical Education (CTE) in middle and high schools across Tarrant County. WSTC received grant funding from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) for this hands-on paid externship experience. This program aims to bridge the critical gap between theoretical classroom instruction and practical, real-world application. Participants in the externship will earn a stipend and have the opportunity to immerse themselves in local businesses, gaining firsthand experience that will help them better guide students toward diverse career paths.

Veteran Services

First and foremost, thank you to all veterans for your service to our country. At Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County we provide priority of service to eligible Veterans and their Spouses. Through a partnership with the Texas Veterans Commission we are able to provide individualized career services for disabled veterans and veterans with significant barriers to employment. Vocational Rehabilitation Services

Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County provides employers with enhanced access to an under utilized segment of the workforce, people with disabilities. Workforce Solutions, in partnership with Texas Workforce Solutions -Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Services provides individuals with disabilities with employment related services including referrals, job search assistance, job readiness training, paid internship opportunities, career-focused education and training services within any of our Workforce Centers.

Vocational Rehabilitation Services helps individuals with physical or mental disabilities address employment barriers related to a disability, and supports eligible individuals as they prepare for, obtain, retain or advance in employment. Individualized services can include assessments and diagnostics, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and cognitive therapies, among other services.

A person with a disability as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has the right to access all services, programs and activities provided at the Workforce Centers.

Workforce Solutions Workforce Centers provide services to ALL job seekers, but specialized accommodations and services are available to people with disabilities, if you ask. If you have a disability and you require special service or accommodation YOU MUST LET US KNOW. This is your choice and your right. Disclosing the nature of your disability can have real benefits. By doing so, Workforce Solutions staff can provide the accommodations and assistance you are entitled to receive.

To request assistance:

  • Start My VR is an online self-referral form that offers a convenient way for Texans with disabilities to take the first step toward employment. Get started today by visiting Start My VR or by scanning the QR code above.
  • You can also ask your Career Consultant or the receptionist at our Workforce Centers to put you in contact with a Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Services Counselor.
  • The Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) representative will arrange necessary accommodations to provide persons with disabilities access to programs or services.
