Board of Directors

Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County is led by a locally nominated 29-member Workforce Development Board (WDB) which is comprised of community leaders from local businesses, educational institutions, labor groups, economic development corporations, community-based organizations and government entities. The WDB works in partnership with the Workforce Governing Board (WGB) to oversee Workforce Services in Tarrant County. The WDB & WGB are responsible for the planning, evaluation, oversight and fiscal accountability of the Workforce services and programs of our county.

Robert Sturns

Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director leads the agency’s operations, including staff, finances, and strategic planning to ensure effective workforce service delivery. Robert serves as the link between strategy and action, turning the Board’s vision into measurable results that address Tarrant County’s workforce needs. He builds partnerships with businesses and community organizations to equip workers with skills for in-demand jobs. Robert brings over 30 years of leadership experience in both public and private sectors.
