Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County Awarded Employment Service (Local Office) of the Year

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas (April 7, 2026) – Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County (WSTC) has been selected as the Employment Service (Local Office) of the Year by the American Legion. The Veterans Employment & Education Commission recently announced this year’s national VE&E award winners. The awards will be officially presented during the 107th National Convention in Louisville, Ky., Aug. 28-Sept. 3.

The award recognizes a local workforce office that demonstrates exceptional impact in helping veterans secure employment, advance their careers and successfully transition into the civilian workforce.

“Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County leads the way and sets a STATEWIDE example for assistance to veterans in the community. I can think of no better organization to be recognized for their workforce initiatives and partnerships to ensure the needs of veterans and their families are met,” said Clay Dyess, Veterans Resource Coordinator, Texas Veterans Leadership Program, Texas Workforce Commission.

In addition to the services offered to veterans in our Workforce Centers, WSTC, along with the Texas Workforce Commission and Texas Veterans Commission, hosts one of the largest veteran focused job fairs in the state. This year marks the 15th Annual Hiring Red, White & You! Job Fair. The event will host 165 employers and will be held at Globe Life Field on November 5th. This event is open to all job seekers, however veterans will receive priority access. For more information click here.

“As a veteran, this recognition is especially meaningful to me. It reflects our team’s deep commitment to ensuring those who have served our country have access to the opportunities, support and resources they deserve as they transition into the civilian workforce. I could not be more proud of the work being done every day to serve our veterans,” said Robert Sturns, Executive Director, Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County.
